Shashi Sathaye is a leading expert on patient flow through operating rooms and the impact of the flow on a hospital's financial results. He began his professional career at Bell Labs, where he pioneered the use of analytical modeling to improve the effectiveness of semiconductor operations. He worked as an internal consultant for AT&T, Lucent, and Avaya and managed groups that developed methods and tools for faster material flows in semiconductor and electronics assembly manufacturing. He has developed tools for optimizing supply chain networks and was responsible for developing and implementing supply chain strategy for Avaya. He is also a leading expert on supply chain network design. His supply chain management engagements include consumer electronics, medical device manufacturing, contract manufacturing and telecommunications. At Twin Peaks Group, he has worked on improving effectiveness of hospital operating rooms and emergency rooms by accelerating patient flows and more effective use of resources. Shashi is also an Adjunct Professor at the NY Polytechnic University, and teaches graduate level courses on production science, robust design and electronics manufacturing systems. He holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, a ME and a PhD in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research from Texas A&M University, and a MBA in Finance from Rutgers University,
